Highly highly recommend this house! The layout and back patio are perfect for entertaining. Beds were all super comfy and the hot tub was a hit and is huge! Plenty of bathrooms for a big group and the basement hang out area with all the games was awesome. You could have people hanging out in different areas of the house without ever feeling crammed into one space which was perfect. Coffee on the porch was also great. The back patio / hot tub does feel a little exposed without any trees between you and your neighbors but since it's a new development I'm sure they'll be adding more landscaping eventually.

Astounding home, it had everything you could think of for comfort and entertainment. Highly recommend for large parties.

My husband and I chose Daniel’s place because of the reviews and the photos. It exceeded our expectations. Water views from so many windows! There is a fire pit and the boathouse looks like a great place to hang out when the weather is warmer. We spent our time relaxing in the sunroom looking out at the lake., a totally relaxing few days which is what we were looking for. The owners have gone above and beyond to make their place cozy, comfortable and inviting. Thoughtful touches like a Keurig coffee maker with coffee, a Bluetooth speaker and charging station were nice surprises. We would definitely recommend
Daniel’s place whether for a quiet get away or a family summer vacation!

We stayed at Shaded Cove for early Thanksgiving getaway. The home and the location were very beautiful. The home has plenty of space to entertain a large family. Plenty of space for kids and adults. Lots of storage and entertainment space for all. Daniel made sure the home had plenty of extra supplies and linen. We truly appreciate that because some of the supplies we forgot were already at the home. We did have some areas that we noticed were not cleaned that we addressed to Daniel and he did respond quickly with a solution. There was an insect problem that we had as well and notified Daniel and he responded promptly as well with a solution. I do recommend some type of pest or insect treatment so guests are not uncomfortable with insects. My other suggestion is to get a table for kids to sit and eat. Overall experience was great. My family enjoyed themselves and loved the property. We will book again with Daniel.

I've stayed in a lot of houses/ airbnbs, and this house by far outshone them all. There were so many activities for the group to do and so much room for everyone to feel comfortable. The whole group had an incredible time and wants to come back in the summer. Daniel was also very responsive, and proactive in sending out details ahead of the day. All in all - very seamless experience. Thank you!!

Daniel was an excellent host, and the property was clean and beautiful! The surroundings were private and peaceful. I definitely plan to stay at this property again in the future.

My family needed a quick uncomplicated getaway to just chill and spend time together. We are from MD so it was a short drive for all of us. Our group was grandparents, adults and one 2.5yo. This property accommodated everyone. Even my dad who can’t walk long distances was comfortably able to stay in one of the basement level bedrooms which didn’t even feel like a basement since it is walkout level with so much amazing light and a lake view. the kitchen was fully equipped for us to cook every night. The fire pit was perfect for s’mores and wood was provided. We utilized the paddle boat, SUP, canoe and kayaks with ease. The air hockey and foosball tables were an added bonus! The laundry was more than adequate. Parking was easy. The nearby playground was a quick walk and helped tire out our toddler daily! We took a 1 hr day trip to Richmond and another day trip to Charlottesville
Both were easy to navigate and a fun excursion. Our host Nick was very communicative, gave great regional info and answered questions super fast. We would definitely stay here again.

The host was absolutely amazing from the start of the process to the end. We got to the house early and were able to get in and start enjoying ourselves in this beautiful home. With each of my family member arriving throughout the night everyone was quite happy and in awe of this home. 10/10 recommend!!!

We had an amazing time! The house was spotless, and the host was incredibly accommodating. The abundance of serving trays, plates, and all the essentials made it perfect for hosting our annual Friendsgiving and a fun-filled weekend. Everything we needed was right at our fingertips. It was 11 of us and there was enough seating for everyone no matter where we were in the house. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a cozy and well-equipped home away from home!

Our group of 5 couples spent a wonderful long weekend at this beautiful home. Exactly as described and well stocked with all the essentials as well as some extras you don’t normally find in a rental. I would definitely recommend this place for any large gathering. Owners are responsive and kept us informed the whole time. 10/10

The house is very spacious and the kitchen is well stocked to prepare meals for a large group.
An issue with an alarm was handled by the owners as soon as possible. We enjoyed our stay.

We were so happy with the house. It was just as the pictures promised. My grandchildren got out of the car and went running for the swing set. We had a hard time getting them in the house. Once they saw their bedroom my middle grandchild had a great time playing with the kitchen and dollhouse. We were in the house most of our time. The kitchen was fully stocked. We made a cake and used the crock pot plenty of cookware and dishes. Beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were stocked. No problem if you forgot shampoo or conditioner. There were 5 adults and 3 children with plenty of room inside and outside of the house. We were never on top of each other. We are talking about returning next year maybe closer to the end of the season.

As much as we loved our 4 days at Shaded Cove, we honestly really appreciated the great hospitality of the hosts. We had a few needed and within an hour, a courteous team of three returned our calls and fixed the situation promptly. This is the second location we have booked with the hosts and both homes were beautiful and clean. The location was prime and the homes were filled with things to do both in the house as well as on the lake. Shaded Cove had a bedroom with 4 bunk beds and the mattresses were high quality (not usually the case for bunk beds). Ideal for a quiet retreat or a large family reunion. Definitely will be looking for other properties owned by them. Thank you for a great stay!!!!
